Take away stories consists of three different lessons involving numbers up to 10.
Each lesson can be used multiple times.
Lesson 1 includes 12 take away stories, each consisting of 3 slides.
The first slide tells and shows the beginning number of items.
The second page tells and shows how many are taken away.
The third page shows how many are left. In the box, children may write either the take away number sentence or the answer, depending on your teaching focus.
Lesson 2 includes 12 take away stories. This time the number of items taken away are crossed out.
Children compose a subtraction story about the items and write the subtraction number sentence in the box.
Lesson 3 presents 12 different slides about which children can compose their own take away stories by dragging items taken away into a bin. Once again, they write the take away number sentence in the box.
Clicking an ‘Again’ button clears the example allowing other children to compose different subtraction stories about the items.
