Stained glass butterfly is a craft activity to support a unit of work about minibeasts, insects or butterflies.
Print the butterfly outline onto an overhead transparency for each child.
Children cover the butterfly’s wings and body with small pieces of cellophane in different colours.
Attached to windows, the finished butterflies give a colourful stained glass effect; or hung in the room, they create a beautiful kaleidoscope of fluttering butterflies.
(Did you know a group of butterflies was called a kaleidoscope? How gorgeous is that!)
