Help your child with reading is a printable tri-fold brochure that presents strategies parents can use to support their beginning readers.
The brochure can be used as a focus for discussion in parent information sessions or in individual parent interviews. It provides a brief overview of the reading process and strategies used by effective readers. It explains how to tell if a reader expects the text to make sense by listening to their miscues (when what is read doesn’t match what is on the page).
When printing, choose “Print on both sides of the paper” and “Flip on the short edge”.
